Bataan starts vaccinating children

A ceremonial vaccination was held at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) yesterday, February 8 to mark the start of anti-COVID vaccination among children, ages 5-11.

Pfizer BioNTech, the only brand yet to receive an emergency use authorization (EUA) from the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for children uses a different formulation suited for children of said ages.

BGHMC is now ready to accommodate parents who are willing to have their children vaccinated and get additional protection against COVID-19, while other vaccination sites in Bataan are already preparing for the said vaccination, This move is also in preparation for face-to-face classes, once it is allowed.

No less than Gov. Albert Garcia, Cong. Joet Garcia, Department of Health (DOH) Usec. Roger Tong-an, Asec. Maria Francia Laxamana, RD Corazon Flores attended the event.
